Shibori, the ancient Japanese technique of resist dyeing goes on to magic on Sarees. Shibori gives the fabric a three-dimensional form by shaping and manipulating the cloth by folding, wringing, crumpling, plaiting or plucking the fabric. This is then secured in a number of ways like knotting or binding. These sarees are characterized by simple motifs and colors may not appear uniformly across the saree which is the trademark of a handmade shibori saree. The unique effects which possible with Nui Shibori, are determined by the type of stitch, whether or not the cloth is folded and the stitches are either straight, curved or organized in a parallel manner on the fabric.
